Today is set to be one of the busiest days of the year at Dublin Airport as the June Bank Holiday rush gets under way with more than 700 arriving or departing flights.
More than 370,000 passengers are expected to travel through the airport between today and Monday – a 6% increase on last year’s June Bank Holiday.
Over 2,660 flights will arrive and depart during the four days, making this the busiest weekend of the year so far.
Said Dublin Airport spokeswoman Siobhan O’Donnell: “As this weekend is set to be the busiest of the year so far we strongly advise passengers to prepare for security screening in advance and to go directly to the security screening area once they have checked-in.
“Dublin Airport’s route network is set to expand further over the coming months as five new long-haul and six new short-haul services are being launched this year providing passengers with greater choice and flexibility,” she added.
More than 8.3 million passengers have used Dublin Airport in the first four months of 2017 – a 7% increase, or almost 528,000 more people, compared to the same period last year.
