A record 2.6 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in May – a 5% increase on the same month last year.
Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe rose by 4% to almost 1.4 million. More than 843,000 passengers travelled to UK destinations – an increase of 1%.
Transatlantic traffic to and from North America increased by 18% to almost 321,000 passengers.
Other international traffic, principally to the Middle East increased by 3% to over 56,000 passengers.
Passenger numbers on domestic routes decreased by 9% with over 8,000.
The number of passengers using Dublin Airport as a hub to connect to another destination increased by 51% to 330,000.
So far this year, a total of over 10.9 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport, an increase of 640,000 or 6% compared to the first five months of 2016.
